Wonderful news! As of Novemeber 5th The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Tampa Bay is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 Academic year.
These scholarships provide dedicated and deserving students with additional funding to assist in successfully transitioning from high school to technical institutes, community colleges, vocational schools, colleges, and universities.
Scholarships will be awarded in the following amounts:

- High School: $1,500, $1,000 and $500
- College/University: $1,500, $1,000 and $500
To be eligible to take advantage of these scholarship opportunities High School/College/University Students must meet these requirements:
- SME Member in good standing (member number)
- Applicant must be a High School or College/University Student
- 500-word essay answering the question “Why do you want to pursue a career in engineering or manufacturing?”
- Must be a State of Florida resident
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale
- Must include academic references
- Students
must be planning to pursue a career in manufacturing or related engineering field of studies such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Once you become an SME Member, apply and submit all of your documents to fulfill the requirements including the 500 word essay. Remember to keep an eye out! Scholarship winners will be announced during the December 13th awards banquet.
